Terminologies for fire alarm systems

1.       Alarm Zone: The fire alarm areas aredivided into smaller section or unit according the alarm range or the buildingfloor, and the smaller section is called alarm zone.

2.       Detection Zone: The section being divided accordingthe exact detection places.

3.       Monitoring Area: The area could beprotected by one detector.

4.       Installingdistance: The horizontal distance between 2 detectors.

5.       Monitoring Radius：The longest unidirectionaldistance could be detected by a detector.

6.       Local Alarm System: The fire alarm systemwith simple function, it’s composed of (areal) fire alarm and fire detector.

7.       Remote Alarm System：It’s composed of central fire alarmcontroller, areal fire alarm controller and fire detector, or composed by firealarm controller, areal displayer and fire detector. It’s a fire alarm systemwith a bit complicated functions.

8.       Control Center Alarm System：It’s composed of fire control equipment inthe fire control room, central fire alarm controller, areal fire alarmcontroller, and fire detector, or be made of fire control equipment in the firecontrol room, fire alarm controller, areal displayer, and fire detector. It’s acomplicated fire alarm system.
